The 21-year-old playmaker has sat out the Reds’ last two games – against Liverpool and Brighton – with an untimely injury. Fitness problems have prevented him from making the desired impact during a loan spell at the City Ground.

Reyna has also faced fierce competition for places from the likes of Morgan Gibbs-White, Anthony Elanga, Callum Hudson-Odoi and Divock Origi, with the United States international seeing just 39 minutes of game time across four substitute appearances as a result.
